Waziristan peace festival 2026 to begin on June 12

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) A month-long Waziristan peace festival 2026 will commence on June 12 in South Waziristan, bringing together youth from across the region through sports, cultural activities, and community celebrations aimed at promoting peace and harmony.

The festival to be organized by Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (South), will continue until July 10 and feature events at 23 venues across the district. Hundreds of young athletes are expected to participate in cricket, football, and volleyball competitions, said an official release.

The initiative is designed to provide a positive platform for youth engagement, encourage healthy recreational activities, and strengthen social bonds among local communities.

Organizers believe such events play an important role in nurturing talent and fostering a spirit of teamwork and mutual respect.

Alongside sporting contests, the festival will showcase the cultural heritage of Waziristan through traditional Attan performances and other cultural presentations.
