LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore has intensified efforts
to further enhance its operational performance and service delivery
standards.
An important review meeting was held under the chairmanship of WASA
Managing Director Ghaffran Ahmed, to assess the ongoing operational
activities and public service initiatives. All Town Directors attended the
meeting in person, while Executive Engineers (XENs) participated via webinar.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the progress made
in desilting operations and the Complaint Management System.
The Managing Director directed all officers concerned to ensure timely
desilting of drains and sewerage lines to improve drainage infrastructure
ahead of monsoon season.
Emphasizing citizen facilitation, Ghaffran Ahmed stressed the importance
of resolving public complaints promptly and within the prescribed timelines.
He also instructed officials to continuously monitor the Complaint Management
System and take necessary measures to further improve its effectiveness
and performance.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The WASA MD directed field officers to ensure daily reporting of operational
activities and instructed all operational teams to remain on high alert in view
of the upcoming monsoon season.
Special instructions were also issued to conduct a comprehensive survey
of manhole covers across all neighborhoods and streets of the city. Taking
a strong stance against theft of manhole covers, the MD directed officials
to register attempted murder cases against those involved in such criminal
activities, considering the serious risks posed to public safety.
He urged the citizens to remain vigilant regarding manhole cover theft and
to report immediately any such incidents by calling 15. Residents were also
requested to report damaged or missing manhole covers through the WASA helpline 1334.
The Managing Director reaffirmed that providing the public with the best possible
drainage and sanitation services remains WASA’s top priority. He stated that
any negligence in delivering relief and services to citizens would not be tolerated.
