Woman dies as boat capsizes in Sardaryab

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) In a tragic incident at the popular recreational spot of Sardaryab in Charsadda district, a boat capsized in the River Kabul, causing seven people to fall into the water.

According to Rescue officials on Sunday, a diving team from Rescue 1122 immediately launched an operation after receiving the emergency call and all affected individuals were pulled out of the river with the help of local residents.

Rescue sources confirmed that a woman and a child were recovered in an unconscious state and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Hospital authorities later confirmed that the woman who was brought in critical condition could not survive and passed away.

Officials said the affected family had come from Peshawar for a recreational visit to Sardaryab when the unfortunate incident took place.

Rescue teams have now completed the operation in the area, while police started investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
