Woman gets 10-year imprisonment in narcotics case

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Apr, 2026) An Additional District and Sessions Court in Shujaabad on Wednesday sentenced a woman to 10 years in prison along with a fine of Rs100,000 after convicting her in a narcotics case.

According to the prosecution, the accused, Abida Bibi, was found guilty of possessing illegal drugs. The court announced its verdict after the prosecution successfully proved the charges against her during trial proceedings.

The case dates back to 2025, when Sub-Inspector Zahid Din of Police Station Raja Ram, along with his team, conducted a raid and recovered 3,060 grams of charas from the accused.

Following the recovery, police registered FIR No. 1197/25 under Section 9(1)/3C of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act and initiated legal action.

After completing the investigation on the basis of solid evidence, police submitted the challan in court, which ultimately led to the conviction.

Upon conclusion of the trial, the court handed down a 10-year prison sentence to Abida Bibi and imposed a fine of Rs 100,000.
