Woman injured by celebratory gunfire at wedding in Nowshera Virkan

NOWSHERA VIRKAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) A woman was injured after being struck by a bullet during celebratory gunfire at a wedding in a Village, Thirkhan Wala , the police said on Monday.

The incident took place the village where guests had gathered for the wedding of a local resident.

According to a police , several attendees were firing weapons into the air when a bullet allegedly discharged from a pistol struck a passer-by in the chest.

She collapsed at the scene and was taken to Tehsil Headquarters hospital, where she remained under treatment, they added.

The accused involved fled the scene following the incident. the police said.

The police registered a case and launched search operation to arrest the accused.
