Worker killed in cutter machine at Hattar Industrial Estate

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) A factory worker lost his life in an industrial accident at Hattar Industrial Estate in Haripur on Sunday, highlighting concerns over workplace safety in the area.

According to police, the deceased identified as Shan Haider was operating a cutter machine at a paper mill when he was caught in the machinery. The accident was so severe that he died on the spot.

Following the incident his body was shifted to a trauma center for legal formalities, while police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Local sources and labor representatives claim that industrial accidents have become increasingly common in Hattar Industrial Estate due to inadequate safety measures in several factories. They say these incidents continue to result in the loss of precious lives. Labor leaders have alleged that safety regulations are frequently violated.

They called for a transparent investigation into the incident, strict action against those found responsible and the implementation of effective safety measures to better protect workers in industrial facilities.
