Zero tolerance against poor sanitation: MD Suthra Punjab

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Abid Hussain Bhatti has assumed charge as Managing Director (MD) Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA) Faisalabad, ordering strict action to improve cleanliness across the city and said that zero tolerance would be adopted against poor sanitation.

Soon after taking charge, the newly appointed MD Suthra Punjab Agency paid surprise visits across different parts of the city and expressed displeasure on the overall sanitation situation.

He directed issuance of a warning letter to the contractor concerned over unsatisfactory performance.

He instructed the District Manager Operations that if cleanliness conditions across the district were not improved within three days, the contracts of responsible firm should be cancelled.

He said that zero-tolerance policy was being adopted to maintain sanitation standards in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz.

Highlighting the importance of the “Suthra Punjab Program”, he termed it a revolutionary initiative for modernizing the sanitation system and ensuring a healthy environment across the province, adding that uniform cleanliness facilities were being provided in both urban and rural areas.

He further directed that a WhatsApp number should be introduced for public facilitation and widely publicized it through social media platforms as well as at the Tehsil level.

To achieve the goal of making Faisalabad a zero-waste city, he ordered monitoring officers to remain active in the field and warned that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.

The sanitation operation should be further accelerated, with continuous monitoring of cleanliness in major roads, markets and residential areas to ensure provision of the best possible facilities to the public, he added.
