ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Tourism and Culture, Malik Adil Iqbal, has directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert and ensure the provision of the best possible facilities, security, and rescue services for tourists, highlighting that around 1.2 million tourists visited Galiyat during Eid-ul-Azha holidays.
Chairing a high-level meeting in Abbottabad on tourism promotion and tourist facilitation, Malik Adil Iqbal said that the tourism sector is among the top priorities of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the tourists should be treated as special guests.
Adil Iqbal said that the arrival of approximately 1.2 million tourists in Galiyat during Eid holidays reflected the growing popularity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's scenic destinations.
He directed all departments to maintain close coordination and ensure comprehensive arrangements for the safety, convenience, and well-being of tourists during the upcoming season.

The special assistant also stressed the need for uninterrupted electricity supply to hotels, a more efficient taxation system, one-window facilitation services, and greater digitalization of the tourism sector.
He reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing every possible facility to visitors and developing Galiyat into a model tourist destination.
The meeting was attended by MPA Rajab Ali Abbasi, Secretary Tourism Saadat Hassan, Hazara Division Commissioner Fayyaz Ali Shah, Director General Galiyat Development Authority Muhammad Fawad, and representatives of the Health Department, Rescue 1122, the Galiyat Hotel Association, and other relevant institutions.
