27 farmers selected for laser land leveler subsidy in Sialkot

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) As many as 27 farmers were selected through balloting for provision of subsidy on laser land leveler units under a Punjab government initiative aimed at promoting water conservation in agriculture.

The balloting ceremony was held at Jinnah Hall, Sialkot Fort . Out of 272 eligible applicants, 27 farmers were chosen to receive a subsidy of Rs 600,000 each for purchase of laser land leveler units.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abbas Zulqarnain attended the ceremony as chief guest, while MPAs Chaudhry Faisal Ikram and Khawaja Sultan were present as guests of honour. Officials of the Water Management Department and a large number of farmers also participated.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADC said the Punjab government was taking effective steps to modernize agriculture, adding that laser land leveling would help save water and increase per-acre yield.
