LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The district administration, acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ijaz, has intensified its ongoing price control campaign across the provincial capital to ensure relief for citizens and curb profiteering.
According to a spokesperson, a total of 5,881 inspections were carried out at various markets and commercial outlets, during which 58 violations of official price lists were detected. The authorities arrested eight individuals involved in overcharging and imposed fines amounting to Rs 297,500.
The deputy commissioner directed officers to take strict action against profiteers and ensure that price lists are prominently displayed at all shops for public awareness and compliance.
He said the administration remains fully active to facilitate citizens and maintain price stability, adding that consistent monitoring has led to a visible reduction in overpricing in different areas of the city.
DC Muhammad Ali Ijaz said that the district administration would continue its efforts to provide maximum relief to the public and ensure implementation of government-notified prices in letter and spirit.
