LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) A survey conducted by the Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) on the two-year performance of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has shown that a majority of respondents expressed satisfaction with her leadership and the overall direction of development in the province.
According to the survey report, 69 per cent of respondents said they were satisfied with the chief minister’s performance, with 32pc rating it “outstanding” and 31pc terming it “good”. The report noted that a majority of young respondents also supported her leadership.
The survey further indicated that 65pc of respondents believed Punjab was moving in the right direction in terms of development, while 56pc said ongoing development projects had contributed to an increase in the chief minister’s popularity.
It added that, based on two years of performance, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) enjoys 42pc public popularity in Punjab, while 55pc of respondents said they would vote for the chief minister on the basis of performance.
Among government initiatives, the “Clean Punjab Programme” received the highest approval rating at 33pc. Improvements were also reported in women welfare and protection (30pc), public transport (29pc), education (27pc), law and order (26pc), and infrastructure (25pc).
The survey, conducted among 7,000 respondents, included equal participation of men and women, with 57pc from rural areas and 43pc from urban centres. It found that 69pc of participants aged 18 to 40 expressed positive views.
Overall, 56pc of respondents expressed satisfaction with sanitation and municipal services, while public opinion also reflected perceived improvements in cleanliness, health, education reforms, inflation relief measures, public transport and cultural revival initiatives such as Basant.
