800 traffic personnel deployed in Quetta for Ramazan, announces SSP Traffic

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Quetta’s Traffic Police have rolled out a comprehensive management plan for the holy month of Ramazan, deploying over 800 personnel across the city to ensure smooth vehicular movement, particularly during peak hours before Iftar.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Quetta, Bilal Mirza, shared details of the initiative at a press conference on Tuesday. He said, the city has been divided into 15 sectors to better manage congestion, with seven Quick Response Teams (QRTs) formed to tackle traffic issues promptly and two surveillance teams will also monitor the performance of field staff.

According to SSP Mirza, traffic officials will be stationed at 213 key points, including City Circle, Sariab Road, and other major arteries. he said that the traffic police personnel will remain on duty even during Iftar to maintain uninterrupted flow in the city.

To keep commuters informed, traffic updates will be broadcast every 20 minutes via FM 88.6 radio.

Additional measures include a “Mechanic on Wheels” service to assist motorists in case of breakdowns. Major commercial hubs such as Liaquat Bazaar and Jinnah Road have been declared no-parking zones, while designated timings have been set for loading vehicles, water tankers, and heavy traffic to ease congestion in central areas.

Bilal Mirza said that special arrangements have also been made outside schools and hospitals, where facilitation desks will assist the public and minimize inconvenience. SSP Mirza noted that traffic arrangements may be adjusted closer to Eid, depending on public needs. The initiative underscores the traffic police’s commitment to maintaining order and ensuring convenience for residents during Ramazan.
