87percent businesses comply as Sargodha enforces 8pm closing deadline

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) The district administration on Friday enforced the Punjab government’s energy policy and smart lock-down,with 87 percent of business centers closing at the stipulated time of 8pm.

According to official sources,action was taken against violators during operations conducted across the city.

Revenue and enforcement teams sealed Gujjar Hotel,Hotel Zam Zam,Royal Dera and Al-Hashmi restaurant for continuing business beyond the prescribed timings.

Officials said that fines were imposed on shopkeepers and hotel owners found violating the rules,adding that premises were de-sealed after submission of affidavits.

Deputy Commissioner(DC),Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry urged traders to cooperate with the administration,stating that the measures were being taken in the larger national interest.

He warned that violations of the closing timings would not be tolerated and that the crackdown would continue without discrimination.
