Afghan national arrested over illegal residence

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Police arrested an Afghan national for allegedly residing illegally within the jurisdiction of Alpa Police Station, officials said.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Rehmatullah, was taken into custody during an investigation into the preparation and use of fake identity cards.

Authorities said six other Afghan nationals living in different parts of the city and believed to be in close contact with the suspect were also detained.

All the accused were shifted to a holding camp for further verification and legal action.

Police said further investigations are underway to gather information regarding the alleged illegal stay of foreign nationals in Pakistan.
