Officials say the Islamabad initiative has drawn global attention after helping facilitate a ceasefire between Iran and the United States, paving the way for direct diplomatic engagement.

Amid the developments, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received multiple telephone calls from world leaders, including the Amir of Qatar, the King of Bahrain, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, and the heads of government of Austria, Germany, and Italy.

The leaders reportedly appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic role and efforts to promote regional stability.

In preparation for the talks, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced facilitation measures for foreign delegates, including issuance of visas on arrival for participants and accompanying media personnel. Airlines have also been advised to allow boarding without prior visa requirements, while immigration authorities will process visas upon arrival.

Separately, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad to review security arrangements. Authorities described hosting the talks after the ceasefire as a matter of national importance and directed strict security protocols.

It was further decided that the Red Zone would remain fully sealed during the negotiations, with access restricted only to authorized individuals. A dedicated control room has also been set up at the Interior Ministry to monitor security operations throughout the event.
