Another fugitive from prisoner van escape arrested; total arrests reach eight

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Rawalpindi police on Thursday made further progress in the prisoner van escape case by arresting another dangerous fugitive, bringing the total number of rearrested criminals to eight.

According to a police spokesperson, the newly apprehended suspect was identified as Wahab, who is involved in cases of a highly heinous nature.

Following his arrest, the fugitive was handed over to the Islamabad police for further legal action in connection with the Primary case registered at the Sehala police station.

According to the details, police teams have been conducting continuous raids across various hideouts since the escape incident occurred.

The police reiterated that intelligence-based operations (IBOs) are still underway to track the remaining fleeing suspects, and expressed confidence that all others would be brought to justice soon.
