ATC sentences man to 30 years for 2023 police encounter

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Larkana has sentenced Naseer Ahmed Jagirani to 30 years of imprisonment and a fine of 60,000 rupees for his involvement in a 2023 police encounter.

The hearing of the police encounter case that took place in 2023 within the limits of the Dhamrah police station was held before Judge Altaf Hussain Dayo of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Larkana on Wednesday. Upon proving his guilt, the court sentenced Naseer Ahmed Jagirani to 30 years in prison and a fine of 60,000 rupees.

It is worth noting that in 2023, an encounter took place between police and suspects on Larkana's Miro Khan Road, during which police officer Asif Ali Korai was seriously injured. Following the incident, police arrested suspect Naseer Ahmed Jagirani along with a pistol, while other suspects manage to flee.

According to police, at that time, on behalf of the government, three suspects — Naseer Ahmed Jagirani, Bakhshal alias Gadu, and Waqar alias Wiko — were also charged in two separate cases related to the police encounter and under Section 13-D.
