Attock police intensify crackdown on criminal elements, drugs, liquor, illegal weapons recovered

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2026) The District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Mavarhan Khan, has ordered to further accelerate operations against criminal elements across the district, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab and the directives of the Inspector General of Police Punjab.

Under this campaign, a full-scale crackdown is underway against proclaimed offenders, illegal weapon holders, drug dealers, foreign Afghan nationals, violators of the Tenancy Act, and habitual suspects.

According to police sources, Attock Khurd Police, during an action, recovered 3.6 kilograms of hashish from a motorcyclist. Similarly, police in the jurisdiction of other police stations, during separate operations, recovered 27 litres of liquor, four illegal pistols allegedly being used in liquor selling, and one kilogram of ice drug.

Furthermore, during a search operation, 10 suspects were arrested, including persons involved in vagrancy and violations of the Tenancy Act, while 11 illegal Afghan nationals were also taken into custody. Cases have been registered against all the accused in the relevant police stations and further investigation is underway.

The DPO also organized a special workshop for police officers and personnel. The workshop focused on ethical values, responsible conduct, politeness, patience, better public dealing, strengthening public trust in police, and ensuring the rule of law.

Police authorities said that such actions would continue without interruption to eliminate crime and ensure public safety. Citizens were also urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
