Chiniot holds pre-flood mock exercise 2026 to test emergency response

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Chiniot organized a pre-flood dry mock exercise 2026 at Hockey Stadium Satellite Town on April 23.

The drill aimed to test coordination, timely response, and joint strategy among agencies ahead of potential flood situations.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan inspected the exercise and expressed satisfaction with the professional preparations of the rescue teams.

District Emergency Officer Tahira Khan gave a comprehensive briefing on the phases of the exercise, rescue operations, and modern equipment used during the drill.

A large number of officers, rescue personnel, and volunteers participated from the Livestock Department, Clinic on Vehicles, Health and Population Department, Social Welfare Department, WASA, Civil Defence, and other relevant institutions.

The exercise simulated emergency scenarios to assess inter-departmental collaboration.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Ayesha Rizwan said such mock exercises are crucial to further improve the professional skills of officers and personnel and to ensure effective rescue and relief operations during flood threats.

She noted that during the 2025 flood season, Rescue 1122 and district institutions took timely action that saved human lives and livestock while providing immediate assistance in affected areas.

District Emergency Officer Tahira Khan reiterated that Rescue 1122 Chiniot is fully prepared to deal with any emergency, especially potential floods.

He said practical exercises enhance rescuers’ professional skills and ensure effective coordination and timely response between institutions to provide immediate, quality assistance to the public.
