Commissioner orders strict monitoring, speedy completion of development projects

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen directed for strict monitoring, transparency and timely completion of development projects in Chiniot.

During her maiden official visit to Chiniot, she chaired a review meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s Office and emphasized maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness across the district, with special focus on rural areas alongside urban localities.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan briefed the meeting on performance of various departments.

The divisional commissioner directed strict monitoring of staff attendance and warned that containers must be placed according to ground realities, otherwise penalties would be imposed. She stressed that citizens should visibly experience a clean and hygienic environment.

She also instructed officials to accelerate work on case disposals and recoveries under the PLUS project, and urged assistant commissioners and district officers to proactively resolve public complaints at district and tehsil levels without forcing citizens to make repeated visits to offices.

Highlighting development initiatives, she called for completion of two ongoing beautification projects within the stipulated timeframe and reiterated zero tolerance for any lack of transparency in public welfare schemes.

The meeting was informed that work was underway on 18 Annual Development Program (ADP) schemes, 21 new ADP projects and 37 schemes proposed by elected representatives.

Madam Musarrat Jabeen directed the officers to remain present in the field to personally supervise development works.

She also ordered a survey of filtration plants to ensure their functionality and called for strict action against land grabbers, along with proper maintenance of state land.

During visit, the divisional commissioner inaugurated a uniquely designed waterfall constructed on the outer wall of a cemetery along Sargodha Road and planted a sapling in the adjoining green area.

She appreciated the district administration’s efforts in beautification initiatives, terming them important for attracting public attention and improving the city’s outlook.

Under beautification projects launched on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, she inspected ongoing work at the furniture market where uniform shop sheds, parking spaces, pedestrian pathways, an entry gate and a storm-water drainage system are being developed. She ordered completion of these projects within the given timeline.

Accompanied by the deputy commissioner, the divisional commissioner also visited District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, inspecting the dialysis ward, general ward, emergency unit and thalassemia center.

She expressed satisfaction over medical arrangements, checked cleanliness standards, doctors’ attendance and availability of medicines, and interacted with patients regarding treatment facilities.

She directed installation of tuff tiles outside the dialysis center and also reviewed the new hospital building, inspecting machinery and available healthcare facilities. She said that provision of modern and quality healthcare services to patients should remain a top priority in line with the Punjab government’s vision.

Later, she visited the under-construction 125-bed DHQ Hospital and district complex on Jhumra Road, directing officials to expedite the remaining work while ensuring transparency at all costs.

The commissioner noted that mega development projects in Chiniot were nearing completion and these would provide durable and quality facilities to citizens. She also reviewed progress on road construction projects including those near Quaid-e-Azam Park and Chiniot-Faisalabad Road, expressing satisfaction over ongoing work. Quality road infrastructure under development programs would help achieve the objectives of a prosperous Punjab and facilitate improved connectivity and public convenience, she added.
