Commissioner, RPO visit shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar

DG KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Division Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Azhar Ikram on Friday visited the shrine of Hazrat Sakhi Sarwar (RA) on Youm-e-Ashur, where they offered a ceremonial "chadar" and prayed for Pakistan's peace, stability, sectarian harmony and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

The two officials also met devotees at the shrine and reviewed the security and administrative arrangements put in place for Youm-e-Ashur.

They directed the relevant officers to ensure that all measures for the safety, convenience and smooth management of pilgrims remain fully effective throughout the day.

The commissioner and RPO said the district administration, police and other law enforcement agencies were working in close coordination to ensure that all Ashura-related religious activities concluded peacefully. They also urged the public to support efforts aimed at promoting peace, unity and national cohesion.
