Commissioner stresses for removing obstacles in Faisalabad Master Plan

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen on Monday stressed the need for swift measures to remove bottlenecks in the Faisalabad Master Plan, directing authorities to expedite efforts for effective urban development.

Chairing a briefing session on the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA),the commissioner was informed by Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhary about the organization’s structure,jurisdiction,legal framework,ongoing development activities and administrative performance.

Officials said that the commissioner appreciated the briefing and lauded the authority’s strategy for the effective utilization of financial and administrative resources,adding that coordinated institutional efforts were required to strengthen urban development through improved planning and public welfare initiatives.

She particularly emphasized the need for removing obstacles in the implementation of the Master Plan at the earliest.

The meeting was informed that,in order to address objections raised by the Lahore High Court, the services of an environmental consultant had been hired,while the process of digitalisation had been completed to modernize FDA operations.

Director General(DG) FDA,Muhammad Asif Chaudhary briefed the participants on key features of the Master Plan,budget and revenue streams, matters related to katchi abadis, anti-encroachment drives, illegal housing schemes, ongoing development projects,plantation campaign progress,FDA City sports Complex, the under-construction DMC sub-campus, and future development initiatives.

He also highlighted the ongoing process of selling 284 residential plots in FDA City to FESCO to strengthen the authority’s financial position.

The commissioner termed the initiative a positive step and assured full support in resolving FDA’s issues, stating that the authority would be actively engaged in the city’s development process.

Senior officials,including Additional Commissioner Coordination Syed Tanveer Murtaza,Additional Director General FDA Qaisar Abbas Rind,directors and deputy directors attended the meeting.
