DC, DHO inaugurates national anti-Polio campaign

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, along with District Health Officer Dr. Mudassar Hussain, formally inaugurated the national anti-Polio campaign by administering polio drops to children during his visit to the Mother and Child Healthcare Center here Friday. The National Anti-Polio Campaign in Shaheed Benazirabad district would commence from April 13.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the health officials to ensure that all children are administered Polio drops as per set target during the campaign. He emphasized that special attention should be given to refusal cases and such children must be covered on priority basis.

He said that successful implementation of anti-polio campaign was a national responsibility and urged the parents to fully cooperate.

On this occasion, District Health Officer Dr. Mudassar Hussain briefed that more than 400,000 children would be administered polio drops during campaign in the district. He said that for this purpose, 1,327 teams had been formed, including 1,225 mobile teams, 23 transit teams and 79 fixed teams. All necessary arrangements have been finalized to ensure successful execution of the national anti-Polio campaign, he added.
