DIG, DPO join Kohat Police personnel in Eid-ul-Azha celebrations

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious devotion and enthusiasm at the Police Lines Mosque in Kohat on Wednesday, where Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kohat, Irfan Tariq, and District Police Officer (DPO), Shahbaz Elahi, offered Eid prayers alongside senior officers and police jawans.

Special prayers were offered after the Eid sermon for the country’s peace, stability, sovereignty, and prosperity. The participants also paid tribute to police martyrs by praying for the elevated status of Shuhada who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, while seeking protection and success for the police force in the performance of its responsibilities.

On the occasion, DIG Irfan Tariq and DPO Shahbaz Elahi exchanged Eid greetings with officers and personnel, interacting warmly with the jawans and appreciating their commitment and sacrifices. They praised the professionalism and dedication of the force, stating that police personnel continue to stand vigilant for the protection of citizens during both festive occasions and difficult circumstances.

Later, a special tea gathering was arranged at the Kohat Police Club in honor of the officers and jawans. The event provided an opportunity for the personnel to celebrate Eid together in a cordial atmosphere and reaffirm their resolve to uphold unity, brotherhood, and public service.
