QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Quetta Imran Shoukat has declared that no negligence will be tolerated in maintaining law and order, addressing public complaints, and ensuring the safety of citizens. He emphasized that police are committed to fulfilling their responsibilities with integrity, targeting criminals, drug dealers, and fugitives without discrimination.
Speaking on the overall security situation in the district, DIG Imran Shoukat said that police operations are being intensified to protect lives and property, restore peace, and strengthen modern policing systems. Officers have been directed to perform their duties with honesty, diligence, and a strong sense of responsibility.
During the ongoing crime prevention campaign in Quetta, police arrested 80 suspects involved in various cases, recovering 75 revolvers and pistols, 2 Kalashnikovs, 4 shotguns, 801 cartridges, and 2 magazines.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>In anti-narcotics operations, 35 drug dealers were taken into custody, with seizures including 108.393 kilograms of hashish, 2.10 kilograms of heroin, 1,251 bottles of liquor, and 376 beer cans.
Authorities also apprehended 68 proclaimed offenders, 57 fugitives, and 1,083 suspects linked to different crimes. Police successfully rescued five abductees, recovered three stolen vehicles, 17 motorcycles, and eight mobile phones, and seized 2,071 liters of petrol and 420 liters of diesel during enforcement of Section 144.
DIG Imran Shoukat stressed that police officers must adopt a respectful and courteous attitude towards citizens, ensuring that complaints are addressed promptly. He noted that timely redressal of grievances and transparent action will not only restore public confidence but also strengthen cooperation between police and the community.
