Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen has directed the concerned departments to ensure proactive flood preparedness through comprehensive planning, mock exercises and timely preventive measures in addition to accelerate recovery of government dues across the division

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen has directed the concerned departments to ensure proactive flood preparedness through comprehensive planning, mock exercises and timely preventive measures in addition to accelerate recovery of government dues across the division.

She was presiding over a meeting on flood control planning while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Faisalabad Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir and officials of relevant department present on the occasion and deputy commissioners from other districts joined it through video link.

Speaking on the occasion, the divisional commissioner instructed deputy commissioners to submit contingency plans and conduct mock exercises to effectively deal with any emergency situation. She emphasized that desilting operations must be carried out not only in urban areas but also in rural side, towns and at union council level to prevent urban flooding.

She directed assistant commissioners to personally inspect the desilting process to ensure quality and timely completion.

She also ordered an audit of machinery of Rescue 1122 and sought details of available equipment from all departments to strengthen emergency response capacity.

She stressed the need for regular meetings of District Disaster Management Authority and urged the officials to adopt effective measures based on past experiences to mitigate flood risks.

She further directed the Livestock department to prepare a comprehensive vaccination plan for animals and ordered a survey of trees, emphasizing proper trimming to minimize risks during storms and heavy rains.
