DPO Tank visits Imambargahs, meets religious leaders

TANK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jun, 2026) In view of Muharram-ul-Haram, a high-level security meeting was held via video link under the chairmanship of RPO Dera Ghulam Mubashir Mekan to review law and order and security arrangements across the region.

According to police spokesman the meeting was attended by DPO Tank Abdul Samad Khan along with other police officers.

During the meeting, participants discussed the security plan for Muharram, inter-sect harmony, and monitoring of sensitive locations in detail.

The RPO directed all district police officers to ensure effective and comprehensive measures for maintaining peace and security during the holy month.

Following the meeting, DPO Tank Abdul Samad Khan, in line with the directives of the RPO Dera, met religious scholars and local elders at his office.

He appealed to all schools of thought to cooperate in promoting peace, brotherhood, and inter-sect harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram.

Later, the DPO, accompanied by DSP City Circle Kashif Sattar and SHO City Sher Afzal, visited all three Imambargahs in Tank city.

He reviewed the ongoing preparations, cleanliness arrangements, and security measures for Muharram and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials.

He emphasized that all available resources would be utilized to ensure the safety of mourners and maintain a peaceful atmosphere.

The DPO also visited Jamia Masjid Gundapur, where he held meetings with religious scholars and local elders.

The participants discussed measures to maintain law and order, promote religious harmony, and strengthen mutual cooperation during Muharram-ul-Haram.

On the occasion, the scholars and community leaders assured the police of their full cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace and brotherhood in the area.
