Dr Ranjha given away SWERA Award

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2026) Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman, Department of Social Work, and Focal Person, IUB Flood Relief Cell, has been honored with the SWERA Award 2026 by the non-governmental organisation “World”.

According to an official press release issued by the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) here, the award was presented by Zafar Iqbal, CEO of The NGO “World”, in recognition of Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha’s outstanding humanitarian services.

“The award acknowledges his exemplary leadership and dedicated relief efforts during the Floods 2025 in South Punjab,” the press release said, adding that as Focal Person, IUB Flood Relief Cell, Prof. Dr. Ranjha played a pivotal role in coordinating relief operations and extending support to more than 3,000 flood-affected families.
