RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Authorities have intensified emergency and rescue operations in Murree and adjoining areas after heavy rains created an emergency-like situation, with landslides reported at multiple locations.

Rescue 1122 has mobilized all available resources, with personnel deployed round the clock to respond to road accidents, medical emergencies and other incidents.

Officials said relief and rescue efforts have been accelerated in affected areas including Jhika Gali following landslides caused by recent downpours.

The district administration said priority is being given to restoration of blocked roads, rehabilitation of affected people and continuation of relief activities.

Monitoring of operations is being carried out 24 hours a day through district and Rescue 1122 control rooms to ensure timely response.

Departments including Communication and Works, Highways, Rescue 1122 and Civil Defence are working in coordination in the field, with additional staff deployed to improve response.

Authorities have advised citizens and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel and contact relevant departments in case of emergency.
