WAH CANTT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) A labourer lost his life in a tragic industrial accident at a flour mill located in the Bhattar Industrial Estate on Wednesday after allegedly coming under a packing machine, highlighting concerns over workplace safety standards.

According to police sources, the deceased, identified as Muhammad Basharat, a resident of Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, was employed at the flour mill when the incident occurred. Initial reports suggest that inadequate safety measures may have contributed to the fatal accident.

The worker sustained critical injuries after becoming trapped in the machinery and succumbed to his wounds at the scene.

Following legal formalities, his body was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, Taxila, where an autopsy was conducted before it was dispatched to his hometown for burial.

Police said a formal inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the exact circumstances of the incident and determine whether negligence or violations of industrial safety regulations played a role in the worker’s death. Further investigation is underway.
