Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding with Web Excels to enhance academic-industry collaboration, a varsity statement said

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding with Web Excels to enhance academic-industry collaboration, a varsity statement said.

Vice Chancellor(VC),Prof.Dr.Shazia Bashir and Web Excels CEO Shahbaz Siddique represented their respective sides at the ceremony.

The agreement aims to create opportunities for students through internships,practical training and exposure to modern technologies in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science.

Addressing the ceremony,Dr.Bashir said the future of Pakistan lies in artificial intelligence and IT,stressing the need to equip female students with quality digital education.

Web Excels CEO Siddique assured full support,noting that more than 50% of his company’s workforce comprises women. He also expressed interest in engaging GCWUS students in remote,project-based work.

Earlier,the CEO visited the Imam Bibi Campus, where he was briefed on departmental activities by faculty members.

The ceremony concluded with both sides terming the MoU a step towards strengthening academia-industry linkages and expanding professional opportunities for students.
