PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday said that the Constitution of 1973 reflected the true spirit of democratic foundations, Federal unity and public sovereignty in Pakistan.

In his message on April 10, observed as Constitution Day, he termed the unanimous adoption of the Constitution on April 10, 1973, a historic milestone that provided the nation with a collective framework for governance.

The Governor paid tribute to Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, saying that giving the country a consensus Constitution was his remarkable achievement.

He said the 1973 Constitution is not merely a legal document but a living covenant that unites the nation on the principles of justice, equality, and rule of law.

Kundi also lauded the struggle and sacrifices of Benazir Bhutto for the restoration of democracy and the Constitution, adding that her efforts played a key role in strengthening constitutional institutions.

The Governor appreciated the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari, saying the 18th Constitutional Amendment restored the Constitution in its true spirit and strengthened parliament.

He also acknowledged the role of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying that he is carrying forward the constitutional vision of past leaders with renewed commitment, particularly inspiring youth to uphold democracy, unity, and rule of law.

Kundi emphasized that the nation must reaffirm its commitment to protect and uphold the Constitution in letter and spirit, terming it a guarantee for Pakistan’s collective political and social future.
