Two overseas players of Peshawar Zalmi depart for home country

Bangladeshi cricketers Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam returned home after representing Zalmi in the tournament, where the team has remained unbeaten so far

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 15th, 2026) Two key overseas players of Peshawar Zalmi have departed for their home country during the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League 11 to join preparations for Bangladesh’s upcoming home series against New Zealand.

Bangladeshi cricketers Nahid Rana and Shoriful islam returned home after representing Zalmi in the tournament, where the team has remained unbeaten so far.

Both players featured in Zalmi’s recent match against Multan Sultans, delivering notable performances. Nahid Rana claimed two wickets for 24 runs in his four overs, while Shoriful Islam bowled economically to support the team’s effort.

Their departure comes as Bangladesh intensifies preparations for its home series against the New Zealand national cricket team. The players have been recalled to join the national squad and participate in pre-series training.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket board had granted a one-day extension in the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) of both players following requests from Peshawar Zalmi and the Pakistan Cricket Board, allowing them to play the match against Multan Sultans before leaving the league.

The exit of the two overseas players is likely to affect Zalmi’s squad balance as HBL Pakistan Super League 11 progresses.
