Himmat Card programme progress reviewed

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) A review meeting on the performance of the Social Welfare Department and ongoing welfare programmes was held under the chair of Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor ul Ain Qureshi.

According to the official source, the meeting was attended by Deputy Director Social Welfare Muhammad Waqas and Assistant Director Mubashir Iqbal, who briefed the participants on departmental performance and ongoing initiatives for the welfare of persons with disabilities.

It was informed that under the Himmat Card Programme, 1,675 deserving persons with disabilities in the district have been issued Himmat Cards so far.

In addition, 406 applications for assistive devices and wheelchairs have been verified, while 125 assistive devices and wheelchairs have already been distributed among eligible beneficiaries.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to further improve the delivery mechanism of welfare programmes and ensure timely provision of facilities to special persons and other deserving citizens across the district.
