Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemns fatal attack on police team in Chilas

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday strongly condemned a violent attack on a police team in Chilas, where three officers were killed while performing their duties to eradicate illicit poppy cultivation.

The Minister paid a glowing tribute to the three personnel who embraced martyrdom, hailing their bravery and dedication to the state. Expressing his deep sorrow, Naqvi offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, stating that the government stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time.

"We salute the ultimate sacrifice made by these brave officers," the Minister remarked, adding that their contributions to upholding the law would not be forgotten.

In addition to honoring the fallen, the Interior Minister prayed for the swift recovery of a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and several other officers who sustained injuries during the firing incident. He emphasized that the state remained committed to its mission against illegal drug production and would support those on the front lines of this effort.
