ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Syed Kausar Abbas, a prominent civil society activist and Executive Director of the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO), has called upon the international community on Thursday to nominate Pakistan for the Nobel Peace prize in recognition of its successful diplomatic efforts in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

He further stated that Syed Asim Munir Chief of Defence Forces and Field Marshal, should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his exemplary leadership and strategic role in promoting peace and de-escalation during a critical time of global tension.

Syed Kausar Abbas emphasized that Pakistan’s timely and effective diplomatic engagement helped avert a potentially devastating conflict, thereby safeguarding regional and global peace.

“Pakistan has once again demonstrated its commitment as a responsible and peace-promoting nation on the global stage,” he said.

He noted that the efforts led by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, played a crucial role in bringing both sides toward dialogue and ceasefire.

“Such extraordinary contributions toward global peace deserve international recognition. The world leadership must acknowledge Pakistan’s efforts and formally nominate both Pakistan and its leadership for the Nobel Peace Prize,” he added.

Syed Kausar Abbas concluded that Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy has not only prevented a large-scale conflict but also reinforced its position as a key advocate of peace, stability and dialogue in international affairs.
