PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi on Monday took notice of the firing incident on a polio vaccination team in Hangu and strongly condemned the attack.
The CM sought a detailed report from Inspector General of Police regarding the incident.
He said that targeting personnel engaged in a national duty was a highly cowardly act, adding that terrorists would never succeed in their malicious designs.
Expressing sorrow over the martyrdom of a police official in the incident, the CM said the provincial government shares the grief of the bereaved family and will extend all possible support.
He also directed that the injured police personnel be provided with the best possible medical treatment.
Sohail Afridi stated that the KP government and the people stand united in the fight against terrorism.
Praying for the elevation of the ranks of the martyred official, patience for the bereaved family, and swift recovery of the injured, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue efforts for peace and protection of frontline workers engaged in polio eradication campaigns.
It is pertinent to mention here that a police constable was martyred and four others were injured in an attack on a police team en route to provide security for polio teams in district Hangu.
