PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Special Assistant to KP CM on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan has instructed the Information Department to establish five more FM radio stations to expand radio transmission and ensure province-wide coverage.

He was chairing a meeting on FM radio stations under the Information and Public Relations Department here on Monday. Secretary Information Matiullah Khan and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

The Special Assistant was given a comprehensive briefing on the establishment, objectives, and performance of Pakhtunkhwa Radio stations, including their role in promoting the national narrative and effectively publicizing the provincial government’s initiatives.

He also directed authorities to take concrete steps to enhance the transmission reach of the existing 10 radio stations.

Furthermore, he called for the installation of modern, high-quality transmitter at Pakhtunkhwa Radio Peshawar and instructed the early launch of a dedicated website and mobile application for the radio network.

He noted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the only province with a well-established community FM radio network, highlighting radio as a credible and effective medium for public awareness, communication during disasters, and promotion of the national narrative.

Concluding the meeting, Shafi Jan emphasized further strengthening radio as a platform for disseminating authentic information, promoting government initiatives, and addressing public concerns, while aligning the medium with modern technological requirements.
