KP IGP takes notice of Maulana Idrees killing

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed here Tuesday took prompt notice of the brutal killing of prominent religious scholar Maulana Idris in armed attack at Utmanzai in Charsadda district.

The IGP immediately sought report from the regional police officer Mardan, says an offical statement.

He issued strict orders to Charsadda police to take all necessary measures to ensure the swift arrest of the suspects.

Maulana Idrees's religious and national services are unforgettable and his sacrifices for the nation will always be remembered.

The IGP reiterated that those involved in this brutal incident will soon be identified and brought to justice.

"In this difficult time, the police stand in full solidarity with the bereaved family and will ensure that justice is served," IGP said.

He said the elements involved in this tragic incident will soon be traced and brought before the court of law.
