Major arms smuggling bid foiled, cache of arms recovered in Police-CTD joint operation

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) In a joint operation, the Dera police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested a suspect and recovered a large quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition during a raid on Dinpur road here Friday.

The operation was carried out on the directives of District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmed and was led by SP City Division along with DSP City Malik Abid Iqbal and SHO Cantt Arsalan Khan Gandapur, in coordination with CTD personnel.

During the raid near Zhob Adda, the police apprehended a suspect identified as Samiuddin, a resident of Zhob.

During the search, the police recovered four concealed containers holding a large quantity of arms and ammunition.

The seized weapons included 15 rifles of various calibers—including M4-type, 30-bore and others—along with 18 pistols of 9mm and 30-bore. Additionally, 2,550 rounds of ammunition were recovered. The police have taken the weapons into custody and registered a case against the suspect, who has been taken into custody for further investigation.
