Man beats wife, brothers film assault

KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) A man allegedly tortured his estranged wife at her parents' home under the pretext of reconciliation in the suburban area of Chak No. 176/10-R on Thursday.

Police said the suspect, Mohammad Akram, had gone to his in-laws' house with his brothers to persuade his estranged wife, Rabia, to reconcile with him.

During the discussion, he allegedly became enraged and attacked her with batons. His brothers allegedly assisted in the assault and recorded the incident on video.

The suspects fled after the assault, while the victim's family rushed Rabia to hospital in critical condition.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Abid took notice of the case after a video of the alleged assault went viral on social media and ordered the immediate arrest of the suspects.
