Minister emphasizes to further improve C&W department performance

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Provincial Minister for Communications and Works, Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, emphasized upon the need to further improve the performance of the Communications and Works (C&W) Department, assured that all technical issues faced by the department are being resolved on a priority basis.

The provincial minister chaired a progress review meeting on ongoing development projects in Quetta district. The session was attended by Secretary Communications and Works Babar Khan, Chief Engineer Quetta Zone Abdul Rahim Bangulzai, along with engineers and officers from the district.

During the meeting, engineering officers presented detailed briefings on road and building sector projects currently underway in their respective divisions.

Addressing the participants, Minister Saleem Khosa stressed that no compromise would be tolerated on the quality of development projects. He directed all officers to strictly enforce quality control measures, including laboratory testing of materials and thorough inspection of completed projects before handing them over to the relevant departments.

Saleem Khosa further instructed sub-engineers to remain present at project sites to ensure proper monitoring and prevent any lapse in standards. He warned that contractors found guilty of negligence or using substandard materials would face strict action.

He also directed chief engineers and superintending engineers to personally review progress on ongoing schemes. “Quality must be maintained without even a one percent compromise,” Khosa said, adding that he was monitoring the projects and expects officers to ensure continuous oversight.

Highlighting the importance of infrastructure, the minister noted that the province’s development and prosperity depended on modern facilities in both the road and building sectors. “Providing these facilities to the people is the responsibility of the Communications and Works Department, and fulfilling this responsibility with excellence should be our mission,” he added.
