Mohmand police destroy opium crop spread on 27 kanal

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Police in Mohmand tribal district destroyed an opium poppy crop cultivated over 27 kanal in the upper Prang Ghar area, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson for Mohmand police, the force is taking effective and comprehensive measures to destroy narcotics from the area.

Acting on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Raza Muhammad, a targeted operation was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Prang Ghar circle Farhad Ali.

The crackdown took place at Qila and Gorgara areas of Upper Prang Ghar.

During the operation, the entire opium poppy crop cultivated on 27 kanal was completely destroyed.
