MUST students gain hands-on exposure to Microsoft, GitHub tools

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Students of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) received practical training in globally recognized digital tools during a capacity-building workshop organized by the university’s Software Engineering Department. The initiative aimed to equip students with industry-relevant skills aligned with the demands of the modern digital era.

The session was led by Hassan Shahzada, a fourth-semester Software Engineering student and Associate microsoft Student Ambassador. According to a departmental spokesperson, the workshop was designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world software development practices by introducing students to tools widely used by professionals.

During the first segment, participants were introduced to the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Program 2026, with guidance on how to apply and benefit from the global platform.

The second module focused on GitHub and the Student Developer Pack, where students received hands-on training on accessing free premium tools, creating portfolio websites via GitHub Pages, and building a professional online presence.

The workshop, which began at 11:00 AM on Wednesday saw active participation from students across departments. Attendees engaged enthusiastically in practical exercises, while organizers received positive feedback for offering meaningful, skill-oriented learning. The session concluded with appreciation from faculty and students, highlighting its role in fostering digital competence and career readiness.
