MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) The 62nd Annual General Meeting of the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) was held at a local hotel presided over by Chairman Sham Lal Mangalani.
The meeting was attended by office-bearers, members of the Central Executive Committee, and a large number of ginners from Punjab and Sindh, along with a delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
The FPCCI delegation, led by Senior Vice President Saqib Fayyaz Magoon, Chairman of the Businessmen Panel Progressive (BMPP), participated as special guests.
The meeting demanded the government to launch a nationwide “Grow Cotton, Save Economy” campaign, incorporating PCGA proposals in the 2026–27 Federal budget, introducing a bailout package for cotton growers and the ginning industry.
Participants also called for strengthening research institutions to address climate challenges, announcing a five-year cotton policy and others.
The participants paid tribute to the sacrifices made for the country’s defense, acknowledging the role of Pakistan’s armed forces in safeguarding national sovereignty.
The meeting was attended by former chairman Haji Muhammad Akram, Senior Vice Chairman Sheikh Fayyaz Ahmed, Vice Chairman North Zone Muhammad Ashfaq Ramay, Vice Chairman South Zone Raja Ramesh Kumar Atwani, and a large number of other members and office-bearers.
