KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) Governor Sindh, Syed Mohammad Nehal Hashmi, in his message on the occasion of the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, has stated that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and has always remained at the forefront of efforts to establish global peace.

Pakistan has consistently played an active and pivotal role in United Nations peacekeeping missions.

He remarked that the Pakistani armed forces and security personnel have made eternal and unparalleled sacrifices for peace and stability worldwide, sacrifices that are a source of pride for the entire nation, said a statement on Friday.

He said that Pakistan has participated in more than 48 UN peacekeeping missions to date, with over 2,35,000 Pakistani personnel having served in these operations. The professional expertise, discipline, and humanitarian spirit demonstrated by Pakistani peacekeepers were widely appreciated across the globe, he added.

The Governor of Sindh emphasized that Pakistan has always advocated for resolving disputes and promoting peace through dialogue and diplomacy, rather than resorting to force.

Referring to the current global landscape, he noted that the role played by Pakistan's political and military leadership in facilitating a ceasefire between the United States, Israel, and Iran is highly commendable. The international community was currently viewing Pakistan's sincere efforts toward peace and stability in the region with appreciation and respect.

He paid tribute to the United Nations peacekeeping forces, stating that these troops were rendering exemplary services in the cause of humanity, peace, and global stability. He reaffirmed that Pakistan remained steadfast in its commitment to continue supporting this noble mission.
