LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) celebrated the 75th anniversary of enduring diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China here at PCJCCI Secretariat with Mr. Sun Yan, Chinese Consul General in Lahore, as a guest.
The joint chamber arranged the event to highlight and acknowledge significance of the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries. The gathering brought together diplomats, business leaders, policymakers, academics, and representatives from various sectors to commemorate the historic relationship and discuss future avenues of cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sun Yan highly appreciated the role of PCJCCI in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting economic diplomacy between Pakistan and China. He acknowledged the PCJCCI’s efforts in facilitating business-to-business engagement, cultural exchanges, investment promotion, and people-to-people connectivity.
The Consul General emphasized that at a time when geopolitical tensions and conflicts continue to affect global trade, energy security, and economic stability, Pakistan-China partnership stands as a model of peaceful cooperation and shared development. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan under the framework of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other mutually beneficial initiatives.
PCJCCI President Nazir Hussain emphasized that enduring friendship between the two nations continues to create new opportunities for economic growth, technological advancement, industrial cooperation, and regional connectivity.

(Retd) Nasser Khan Janjua, former National Security Advisor of Pakistan, stated that in a world increasingly challenged by conflicts, power rivalries, and economic uncertainties, Pakistan-China friendship continues to provide a foundation for stability and constructive engagement. He observed that CPEC represents a transformative vision for regional cooperation and connectivity, capable of fostering long-term economic growth and prosperity. He encouraged greater collaboration in emerging sectors and emphasized the importance of continued people-to-people interactions to strengthen the bonds between the two nations.
Adeel Munawar, Commercial Ambassador PCJCCI, highlighted that Pakistan and China are entering a new era of economic collaboration driven by innovation, digital transformation, industrial modernization, and enhanced trade connectivity. He added that private sectors of both countries must take proactive steps to capitalize on emerging opportunities in technology, manufacturing, agriculture, renewable energy, and e-commerce.
Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General PCJCCI, affirmed a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to further strengthen Pakistan-China partnership and work collectively toward a future of peace, prosperity, and shared progress.
