PDWP approves 43 development schemes worth Rs 87b

Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) in its 70th meeting of current fiscal year, here Monday, approved 43 development schemes with an accumulative estimated cost of Rs 87 billion

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) in its 70th meeting of current fiscal year, here Monday, approved 43 development schemes with an accumulative estimated cost of Rs 87 billion.

Planning and Development Board Punjab (P&DB) Chairman P&D Board Dr Naeem Rauf chaired the meeting that approved the following schemes:

Upgradation of Road Qita Alamara, District Bahawalpur, at an estimated cost of Rs.One billion

A major package of Punjab Rural Sustainable Water Supply & Sanitation Projects (PRSWSSP) across multiple districts and tehsils including Liaqatpur, Rajhan, Alipur, Taunsa Sharif, Shujabad, Noorpur, Bahawalnagar, Bhawana, Darya Khan, Kot Momin, Khyrpur Tamaiwali, Pakpatan, Kehror Pakka, Ahmad Siyalpur , and Nurpur Thal at an estimated cost of Rs.

39 billion

Construction of bus depots, divisional offices, bus shelters, flag posts, and allied public transport facilities across Faisalabad, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Multan, DG Khan, and Bahawalpur divisions, at an estimated cost of Rs. 41 billion.

Sewerage, drainage, and water supply systems in Bhakkar and Gujrat cities, along with PCC soling schemes in Nowshera Virkan, at an estimated cost of Rs. 4 billion

Rehabilitation and side protection of Nasrana Disty at an estimated cost of Rs. 2 billion

PDWP also approved Position papers of Agriculture Farm Mechanization Project (2025-28) and Strategic Planning and Implementation Unit .

The meeting was attended by P&D Board Secretary Rafaqat Ali, the board's Chief Economist and members, and officers of different departments.
