KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen by four wickets in a nail-biting encounter in the 15th match of the Pakistan Super League.
Playing at National Bank Stadium, Zalmi chased down the 146-run target on the final ball, finishing at 146/6.
Captain Babar Azam led from the front with 43 runs, while Kusal Mendis (27) and Michael Bracewell (25) made valuable contributions.
Earlier, Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 145 in 18.2 overs despite a fighting 58 off 35 balls by Kusal Perera. Marnus Labuschagne chipped in with 27 runs.
For Zalmi, Sufiyan Muqeem and Iftikhar Ahmed starred with the ball, claiming four wickets each.
Despite a late effort, Hyderabad’s Hanan Shah failed to defend 10 runs in the final over, sealing a dramatic win for Zalmi.
With this victory, Peshawar Zalmi move to fifth place with three points from two matches, while Hyderabad Kingsmen remain at the bottom of the table without a point after three defeats.
