ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The Federal Constitutional Court has dismissed a petition challenging the elections of the Kagan Valley Society in Karachi, declaring it non-maintainable.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi heard the case on Thursday. During the proceedings, counsel for the petitioner, Zulfiqar Malooka, argued that around 180 allegedly bogus votes were not removed from the voters’ list prior to the elections, which, he claimed, compromised the transparency of the electoral process.

Justice Rizvi, however, questioned whether such a matter fell within the jurisdiction of the constitutional court, observing that the case appeared to be a factual dispute rather than a constitutional issue.

He also remarked critically on the naming of the society, stating that a housing society in Malir, Karachi, named after Kagan Valley was a “stain” on the name of the scenic region.

The judge also expressed displeasure over media reports suggesting that the court had decided the case within 60 seconds. He clarified that judges thoroughly review case files for hours before hearings and come fully prepared, rejecting the notion that decisions are made hastily.

Subsequently, the court ruled the petition inadmissible and dismissed it accordingly.
